| Birthdate: May 10, 1971 Birthplace: Biloxi, MS (Proud to be a 'Mississippi Girl") Current Residence: Lewisville, TX Status: Single :( Height: 5'6" Weight: 130 lbs.(contest) Hair: Brown Eyes: Brown Hobbies: (Besides working out) Eating, Cooking, Reading, Surfing the Internet, Creating web sites, Watching TV, Painting and Crossword Puzzles Pet Peeves: Smokers, unhealthy people by their choice, drinkers and the question, "Do you work out?" - Well duh? Turn On's: Boy Scout in the street; bad boy in the...well you know | A man who takes care of his body, believes in God and is passionate about life. Honesty (because it's sexy) and a man who can be real with a great smile. Turn Off's: Lying by ommission, dishonesty and disrespect, cheaters, an inability to admit to ones own mistakes, users and manipulators, and no manners. A man who pretends to be someone he is not to please others. (Is it a little obvious those words came from personal experience?) My fitness career started at age 5, when my mom enrolled me in dance. I studied ballet, tap and jazz for quite some time. I became interested in lifting weights in 1992 when I joined Irving Fitness in Irving, Texas. I became serious about competing about six weeks before my first competition, the 2003 NPC Cornerstone in Macallan, Tx. I never really committed until the entry form due date came and I had to mail it or else. I didn't place my first time out but I got to see Jay Cutler and Susie Curry guest pose and I learned alot. Wow! My second show, the 2003 NPC Lee Labrada, in Houston, TX. I came in third place and saw my fav Gunter Schlierkamp guest pose. After taking third, I asked one of the trainers at Fitness World, Chris Ding, for a little advice. He, himself a bodybuilder, gave me the basics of his precontest diet but I then tweeked it to suit my needs. He also gave me this serious leg workout that made my legs come out more for the next show. The next show being a national qualifier, the 2003 Southwest USA/North Texas in Arlington, TX promoted by Betty Pariso. I won first place in the tall division which means I am nationally qualified and can go to nationals next year!! I did another show promoted by Prince Harrison, who I purchase my suits and tanning stuff from, the 2003 Heart of Texas. I wasn't even planning to do this show but last minute again decided to do it. It was Prince's show. I can't tell you how unmotivated I was going in and I saw my competition and I totally thought my chances for winning were not good. Well, I won first place tall division and won overall. I was so happy and stunned. I just can't tell you. From that point, I decided to take the rest of the year off and plan to train hard for the 2004 JR USA Nationals in New Haven, CT. And the rest is history... Now, 2007, I have been doing half marathons. My first was before my 36th birthday this past May and my next is labor day in Anaheim, CA. I'm doing the Disneyland half. I still compete infigure did the Ironman in Pasadena, Ca and the Ronnie Coleman a local show. They were both fun. Might be moving on from figure and turning to more competitive and "true" sport, triathlons. I've been training for them and am looking to do my first in the near future. The swim is always the battle for me. Well, wish me luck!! Thanks, Tanya |
